Mrs. Khalil is Montessori Primary, Lower & Upper Elementary Certified. She has been head teacher for twelve years and is the Elementary Coordinator. She is also an instructor for Montessori Training of Southern Nevada, the AMS training program in Southern Nevada (MACTE). She has also taught Sunday school to fifth and sixth graders. She teaches an Art class, specilizing in painting and sketching. Mrs. Khalil has three children and three grandchildren.
Ms. Geiser has a Master of Arts in Teaching and is a licensed teacher specializing in English/Language Arts. She knew that she wanted to study the Montessori method of teaching after visiting a Silent Journey through the Montessori classrooms. She has since become a certified Montessori elementary teacher and has worked in Montessori classrooms ranging from infancy through elementary. She is drawn to fostering self-responsibility and a love of learning in all of her students. Ms. Geiser enjoys practicing art and learning astronomy as well as spending time with family, friends, and in nature.
Ms. Jeys is currently enrolled at Nevada State College. She graduated from Mountain View Christian school and is working on getting her Elementary Education B.A. with a concentration in Special Education. She has been a nanny for many families for the past 2 years. She loves doing crafts in her spare time and volunteers her time in the children’s ministry at her church.
Ms. Tuazon was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. She has a bachelors degree from San Francsico. She worked in the cosmetics industry for two years and then decided to become a teacher. She has been working in Montessori schools since 2004 and became a Montessori certified teacher. She taught kindergarten for 5 years, but now enjoys working with the lower elementary students. Montessori is a big part of her life as she was raised in the Montessori environment from preschool through 7th grade. She loves to travel and has been all over Europe and Asia. She incorporates all of her traveling experience inside her classroom.
Mrs. Donovan has been teaching in a Montessori classroom since 2005. In 2008 she received her elementary Montessori certification through the National Center for Montessori Education and taught for 3 years before moving to the upper elementary where she taught for one year. She pursued an elementary education degree in college. She has been married to her high school sweet heart since 2003 and they have two beautiful children together. She believes in and lives by the Montessori method and it is her desire to create a positive academic environment and offer it to all families. She enjoys spending time with her children and husband, decorating, and relaxing in her backyard with her family.
Mr. Trabert was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mathematics from UNLV and he achieved Ph.D. Candidate status at Southern Illinois University. Also, he has an ARL diploma from UNLV in mathematics education. He completed a teaching leadership CTE program through Southern Utah University. He is a Nevada licensed teacher and has worked at UNLV, Southern Illinois, and CCSD. In his spare time, he enjoys darts, swimming, card games and traveling while enjoying RV's and camping.
Mr. Higgins was born in New Orleans, LA, and lived in Texas for the past 15 years. He holds two Masters degrees in Applied Physics and Physics and has worked in industry as well as two years of experience in an alternate education environment. He enjoys working out, writing, watching movies and time with family.
Mrs. Castaneda-Hernandez graduated from Wright State University in 1996. She earned a degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Spanish. She formerly worked as a behavior interventionist where she implemented her knowledge to support student success. She is a very friendly, outgoing, and caring person who loves working with children. She looks forward to teaching Spanish at Montessori Visions.
Ms. Manzo graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in Social Studies Teaching and a minor in business. She taught A.P. Economics and U.S. History for 3 years at the high school level. She has administrative experience in both the web development and manufacturing sectors. She loves MVA's natural approach to learning. She enjoys trivia games, road trips, landscape photography, outdoor/camping activities, live music, and reading. She looks forward to teaching science in the Adolescent Community.
Mrs. Hunt, a California native, studied Child Development at Brigham Young University - Idaho. Early on in her college career, she was exposed to the Montessori philosophy and loved the unique approach it took to educating the whole child and fostering independence in children. She worked for several years as a secretary on the board of directors for a non-profit organization that focused on raising funds to offset medical costs for children with special needs. A childhood of family trips to Disneyland sparked a love of all things Disney. She had the opportunity to spend a semester of college participating in the Disney college program and working at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
